“In the pandemonium of image, I present you with the universal blue. Blue, an open door to soul, an infinite possibility becoming tangible.”

Screening of Blue (1993 | 79 min.), filmmaker and activist Derek Jarman’s haunting reflection on HIV, 18:00 at the GYM

Blue is the twelfth and final feature film by director Derek Jarman. Featuring one single static blue image, it was made at a time when AIDS-related complications had rendered him partially blind, his vision often interrupted by blue light. Blue here singled out as a means to confront the complexities of life and death, from clinical realities to corresponding mystical questions – only to be answered through art.

Shortly introduced and served with a blue cocktail and soma-esthetic herbal tea.
